Moments from the LSB 2014 Forum


Life Sciences Baltics 2014“ congress – the largest international forum in the fields of biotechnologies, pharmaceutical products and medical equipment in Baltic States was held second time on the 10-12of September.

The main presentation during the conference was made by Nobel prize-winning American biotechnologist prof. Karry B. Mullis. International exhibition, business-to-business meetings and visits to leading Lithuanian high tech companies, research institutions, universities as well as health care institutions were organized for the participants.

Delegations of 40 countries and more than 1200 participants took part in the forum. The largest foreign delegation, consisting of more than 150 participants representing life science companies and science institutions, came from Israel. Great number of participants from this country reflects growing cooperation between Lithuanian and Israeli companies, science and research institutions.

It is expected that this international forum will facilitate further development of Lithuania’s life sciences industry, open broader possibilities for internationalization and further development of by-lateral projects with Israel, which is a leading Lithuania’s partner in this field.

Lithuanian biotechnology and pharmaceuticals sector grew by 22 per cent and exports grew by 17 per cent in 2013.
