Discover Jewish Lithuania – a mobile app

We are pleased to present you Discover Jewish Lithuania – a mobile app based on augmented reality. It covers more than 60 different stories from 600 years of Jewish history in Lithuania. It’s not only in Vilnius, the North Jerusalem, but also in smaller towns-shtetls, such as Ukmergė, Kėdainiai, Joniškis, Žagarė, Valkininkai and Degsnės.

We hope that this app will help to rediscover the Litvak culture and heritage and help us understand the loss of it better.

Discover Jewish Lithuania app is part of the international project “Actualization and presentation of Jewish cultural heritage through mobile application”. During this project, not only the app has been created, but also there were 4 different expeditions organized to the towns that boast Jewish cultural heritage. The result of them together with the workshop that had been organized by the Norwegian partner Jazzmontør was 8 different video stories that are available on this site.

The project has been financed in large by the EEA Grants programme "Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage.
