Newsletter No. 2 - April 2015


Dear Friends, Welcome to the second Issue of the Israel Lithuania Technology Hub Newsletter, in which we endeavor to keep you informed of the Hub's activities, past and future events and further relevant information. To recap, the Israel Lithuania Technology Hub (ILTH) is a platform which was launched by the Israel Lithuania Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The prime target of the Hub is to promote economic growth and technological innovation in Israel and in Lithuania, by creating strong partnerships between companies and businessmen from both countries. Since our last newsletter more companies have joined the Hub, thus enabling them to benefit from our platform and services. We encourage all to spread the word and share this information with friends and colleagues to further grow the network. New Appointments​ We are proud to welcome our two new Directors: Mr. Zvika Kezurer, ICT Director and Mr. German Rudek, Hub Director - Lithuania

Last month Mr. German Rudek, CEO of the InnoForce Group, has joined our team as Director in Lithuania and we now have our own independent presence in Lithuania! Following successful interaction with German, in which he has assisted the Hub and some of its participating companies, it has been decided to appoint him as Hub Director - Lithuania. The InnoForce Group operates in Europe and Central Asia and provides complex IT services and modern integrated solutions for public and private sector organizations.

Last November Mr. Zvika Kezurer has joined us as our new ICT Director. Zvika has over 25 years of experience in the telecom industry working with Giants like AT&T, Vodaphone Group and T-Mobile and many more. As Amdocs’s Vice President of Partner Sales, Zvika managed the relationships with Amdocs' partners expending the overall Partner Eco System, assisting them to grow their market value selling their products, and services to Amdocs customers.

Zvika will lead our ICT operations and with his great experience and familiarity with the global ICT Industry Zvika is a great strengthening for us.

Lithuania is welcoming the newly appointed Israel’s Ambassador to Lithuania Mr. Amir Maimon.

The Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite accepted letters of credence from Israel’s Ambassador and underlined that the opening of the Israeli Embassy in Lithuania was a historic event which would contribute to strengthening sincere cooperation between the two countries. According to the President, Lithuania and Israel should further maintain intensive ties and exploit the existing huge potential for expanding bilateral partnership. Prior to leaving for Lithuania, The Chamber and Hub hosted Ambassador Maimon, for an introductory presentation of the Hub and its activities. In addition Mr. Maimon have met with the Prime Minister of Lithuania Mr. Algirdas Butkevicius, Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Linas Linkevicius and more Minister.

ILTH meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador Mr. Edminas Bagdonas discussing economic agenda

On March 9, 2015 Ambassador of Lithuania Mr. Edminas Bagdonas had a meeting with the Chairman of Israel – Lithuania Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ILCCI) Len Judes and representatives of the Israel Lithuania technology hub (ILTH).

The Ambassador presented current state of play in economic relations between the two countries, forthcoming official visits and the major Lithuanian business events in 2015. Participants exchanged views on possible ways to promote Lithuanian exports, to attract Israeli investments and to develop tourism as well as on the role of ILCCI and ILTH in further development of economic ties between Israel and Lithuania.

A special consideration was given to discuss issues related to organization of the 7th World Lithuanian Economic Forum, a major business event to be held in autumn in Tel Aviv, and also to Baltic Investors Forum which will take place in Vilnius in June. It is expected that some prominent Israeli business figures will take part as key-note speakers in both events.

Cross Border Cooperation Seminar: Lithuania-Israel-Britain On 13th of March, the Lithuanian Embassy in London hosted the first UK seminar of the Israel Lithuania Technology Hub. Participating were a diverse audience of technology and life science businessmen, members of the Lithuanian expat business community, professional service providers, e.g. a law firm, corporate and M&A practitioners. In autumn 2015, the WLEF will be held in Tel Aviv, Israel. The World Lithuanian Economic Forum is the largest economic event for Lithuanians globally. The Forum brings together the leaders of international and local market economics across a range of different fields, promotes the formation of valuable contacts and the exchange of progressive experience, and contributes to the development of a strong community of Lithuanians around the world. The event in Tel Aviv will focus on innovations, synergy between business and science, new technologies, breakthroughs in research and development, and the relationships between Israel and Lithuania.

ILTH @ MEDinISRAEL

Initiated by the Israel Export Institute in cooperation MEDinISRAEL 2015 brought together representatives from over 60 countries who joined forces with Israeli companies, and embodied the brightest and most innovative solutions and practices in the life science arena. Foremost experts in the field, alongside decision-makers and high profile regional and state leaders, presented the new methodologies, trends, challenges, and opportunities that are taking today's medicine forward. The ILTH team have conducted meetings with more than 30 Israeli companies with high hopes in bringing them to Lithuania. Some of these companies have already registered and started the process with our team to further examination of their needs and requirements.
